Mystery shopping Anyone ever do this? I've signed up with several companies and was wondering if anyone else had done it. Merchandising is like putting the ads on grocery store floors, putting $$ signs on products, handheld scanning of merchandise, putting up displays, etc. I was in the right place at the right itme I guess. I lived close enough to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Gainsville, and Sherman to make the round trip hitting stores all along the way. Long trips sometimes. lol If you can find a good scheduler that knows you'll work and turn in good detailed reports they'll find you more jobs and even let other schedulers that you're a good worker. Thats where most of my jobs came from, word of mouth. There are also some good email lists that list work, they usually have the area listed in the subject line so you don't have to read them all. I know others on this list do mystery shopping and I'd be glad to go thru my files and list the companies I used to work for if you're interested. Just and FYI some companies report the smallest $$ to the IRS and you'll get a 1099. If you're ever asked to pay a company to give you jobs - run!! Some jobs end up costing you to much in the long run with what you get paid & what kind of report they want. Depending on the company it can take 3-4 weeks up to 3+ months to get paid for the job. You can quickly run into spending more that you think before you start getting paid. I found I needed in addition to internet conncetion, was access to a fax that doesn't cost you anything, a copier, and a good datebook or big calender to keep track of what jobs are due when.
