Guest guest
Hello again, not sure if you all would remember me so i'll go through it again... I'm , mom to 5yo Kalob. Kalob suffered a traumatic brain injury last July and as a result, among other various conditions, has epilepsy. He has tonic seizures, was averaging about 3-5 clusters a day. We are going in to start the keto diet on Aug. 26 and I am ready. He is currently on Topamax and Depakene, and these meds have done a number on him. Currently, since shunt placement 2 weeks ago for hydrocephalus, we aren't seeing any seizures, but I know they'll be back, they always come back... I told the dietician either way their gonna want him on something for them, and I would rather it be the diet than the meds. I have a couple questions and i'm hoping someone can help? How long do they have to be on the diet before they start taking down the meds? With a g-tube, they are gonna use formula, but they said the powder was taken off the market? She is gonne use a combo of 3 bases, anyone know anything about these? Hey I can ask her all the questions I want but I know, from past experience, you get more help out of others who have been there/are there with ya... Thanks for the help, looking forward to getting to know you all....
