a: At the high school some of my best students are the band kiddos. I believe that there have been some interesting studies done to support the idea that learning music helps a student to learn math better and foreign languages better. Way to go for your grandson. He is fortunate to have supportive parents and grandparents. I have four children in school. Two are on the drill team, one is in band (trumpet) and one is in football. We have a rule in our family that you must be active in one extra-curricular. It doesn't matter what you choose as long as you are plugged in to the school and community. (The main reason I like for the kids to be in band, football, dance etc. is that they have to have good grades to compete, they have a built-in peer group to hang out with and the best part: they are so busy with school, church and extra-curriculars that they can't get into trouble!!!)

Winning district at 5-years-old is super impressive!! Bunny
