Guest guest
, First of all, Good Luck! Be scared, it's normal. As you must know I done ovarian surgery via laparoscopy, 7 years ago. It was not bad at all, but I had a real bad side effect from general anesthesia, and had to stay in the hospital, more time that I was thinking. If you are having more doubts than aswers, please, search another doctor for a second opnion. By now I also have to redo my stomach surgery, that came wrong. My doctor said that it's too risk, and he is not prone to do it again. Another one said that it's very difficult could take more than 6 hours, but he can do. I'm decide to stay this way, I'm not doing OK, but I'm afraid to worse, after another surgery. One more time, all the best, Liane > Hi Everyone, I just needed to vent about how scared I am, I went > today to talk to the anesthesiologist about my upcoming surgery on > Friday and when he found out about my hyperthyroidism, he basically > told me I have a 50% chance of having thyroid storm and dying from > it, I went to my endo doctor last week and he took more blood to test > my levels, so I told him my endo. doctor wants to talk to him before > the surgery, well I guess he got a hold of him because when I got > home my father talked with the anesthesia guy and said I was all set > and my levels were normal, but I may have to spend the night in ICU > just in case I develop thyroid storm after [thyroid storm is > extremley dangerous, I guess your temp. can go up to 105, and your > body basically attacks itself-wierd huh?}my pulse was 112 today, and > thats what worries me, even though my levels are normal I'm still > symptomatic, but I guess they know what thier doing {i hope!} and I > also told them about my pancreatitis, and he said sometimes surgery > can cause an acute flareup depending on the swelling, they're not too > sure whether I'm having the laproscopic surgery or the laprotomy, it > all depends what he finds on my ovary when he gets in there, he told > me there will be gyn/oncologist with him in case it looks > suspicious.well I've rambled enough, just real scared and needed to > write, wish me luck! > :}
