Guest guest
Hi Sara - Thanks for the reassurance and advice. I am a lot more comfortable with the doctor I have now. She is so much more proactive and understanding of my fears. Although I am comfortable with her, I hope I made the right decision. I'm starting to second guess my decision. There are only 4 OB/GYN's in my area. My previous OB/GYN, MD, FACOG was considered the high risk doctor for the surrounding area, but I just could not stay with him any longer. He was so cold and inconsiderate. I don't think that my new OB/GYN, (just has MD initials) is high risk. She is fairly young and has wonderful bedside manner, she brings a real fresh view to my situation. I like her a lot. That could be good or bad that she is young though???? Since she is young, she can't have had much experience with SU, but neither did my previous doctor. When I asked him about his experience he said he would handle it just like a normal preg unless any probs arised. When I asked new doc she talked very knowledgeably and said that she would want to monitor me more closely than usual because I was at risk for PTL. She is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic somehow and said that she would consult with them if I had any questions/problems that she did not feel she could adequately address. I liked her answer a lot better than his! The way I'm looking at it is if I have an uneventful pregnancy then it won't matter if the doctor is experienced in SU and if I do go into PTL then I would have to be shipped to a more appropriate hospital (this is what both doc's said). Any opionions on this are welcomed. After this pregnancy I think I want to consult with someone who can determine for sure that I have SU and not BU since mine was diagnosed on an u/s and it sounds like that is not the most thourough way to determine the difference. Then I might consider having mine resected since a lot of women on this board seem to have much success with this procedure. I want to thank everyone for their support. It really means a lot to me. I feel so much better than I did the first night I posted. Not only am I being educated by you women - I'm inspired and energized! Thanks for everything!
