CC,

No sex anyway! You should not put anything in there for a few weeks! I have a balloon in, but my doctor goes not leave a bag hanging out. I do not have cramps. I only had them for two days from the lap. My advice is to lay down if you are standing and visa versa. This moves the cramping areas from the lap. I can hardly feel the bag. my bag was said to be filled more that the usual amount, but it seems to be ok.

Any hints on how to survive the post-surgery uterine balloon catheter? Any tips would be appreciated! I have heard no sex or orgasm, that you can get cramps, constipation, infection. What things helped you survive? What was your experience like?

Hi K

I am going to be quite honest with you concerning my experience with

the balloon. What helped me survive was looking foreward to the day

when it was REMOVED. It was uncomfortable, always feeling like it was

going to fall out, especially when going to the bathroom. What I did

was try not to move around too much.

Try to hang in there, I know it can be difficult sometimes. But I

feel like I would suffer the balloon for a month 2,3,4,what ever if I

coulde be guaranteed a FIX.

Enjoy you up coming trip.

Hi ,

Wait, is the bag taped to your leg, or do you mean the balloon thing in the

uterus? I have heard that some people get a short tube, some a long tube

taped to their knee almost, and some have a collection bag... Is the bag for

blood or urine or just watery healing plasma? My surgeon said mine will be a

short tube that stays inside, and no collection bag. Did I mention I have to

do the balloon for a month? I am taking the whole month off, and tackling a

big pile of low physical activity projects like reading, sewing and

scrapbooking that I have been meaning to do! How is your recovery going

generally? Is Judy from the group in NYC awaiting surgery? I try to keep

track of all th posts but... And W has surgery the day after me! I

don't think I will want to sit at the computer. Last time I wanted to stand

or lay down, sitting was hard. Maybe DH can rig up our laptop to be a couch

accessible unit!

Thanks for all the hints, and prayers for fast healing for you!

Hi ,

Well surgery is tomorrow! I will have the Cook ob/gyn balloon, and I found a

picture online. I think the tube is only 12 cm long, with no bag or

anything! What will your masters be in? I used to live in NY, and traveled

out to Long Island sometimes! Yes, I am blessed to have a job that allows

the flexibility to live with the healing balloon for a month. Honestly, the

fertility treatments of the last year have been like a full time job...

monitoring, going in for treatments and blood work, now lining up two

surgeries! Plus DH had a vasectomy reversal after we got married two years

ago, so the whole ttc thing has been a main part of our lives!

God bless,

xoxo

Dear CC,

Hoping that your surgery goes well tomorrow and you have a speedy

recovery. Please try to remove your mind off the balloon thing. It

can only make you more nervous. Be comforted by the fact that you

would have it removed in a matter of days. You are in my prayers.

Best of luck..
