Yup, thats why I want to avoid as many scars as

possible! My middle name is indeed Vanity! lol.

Sister. Sigh. I got fed up last week & sent her home

on the first available flight. Mom is doing ok I

guess. The boyfriend kicked her out & she is living

with her boss. I think she wanted to live here but I'm

not having it. Also, she still has not gone back for

her repeat mamogram & I have quit wasting my breath on

her.

Hmm...I will keep that in mind if I have to get the

surgery. Of course, with tricare prime they probably

won't qualify me for that sort of extra.

If they don't, check on how much extra it would cost. It may not be as much as you think since the OR costs and the actual surgery would be covered by the insurance.

It was but I've decided I'm done worrying about

everyone else, I'm sick of being Little-Miss-Fix-It

for the family. I've been meditating a lot & trying

not to let all my worrying/scheming/over-thinking

reign supreme. The buddhist's call that incessant

thinking " monkey mind " ...lol. I'm trying not to give

in to mind so much.

They also have some new kinds of dressings and creams that help prevent keloids. I'm not sure how well they work, because they've come out since I'm not working.

I try to do that. It's worked to a certain extent in my relationship with my Dad.

The only incisions on my body that haven't formed large keloids are the ones that were done by my hand surgeon...and he had so many stitches in my incisions that i think that made a differences. His partner in his practice was his son who was a plastic surgeon so he may have done the closings...I just don' know. I do know that those scars are barely visible. I wish I had told my orthopedist not to use clamps on my knees....of course, it never came to mind. I have scars that are almost 1/2" wide in places. Even a large wart that was cut off (freezing didn't work) left a dime size keloid). My body wouldn't be too hard to identify considering all the scars I have all over my body (including matching scars on each hip from bone grafts taken from there for my arm).

How is your knee doing? I've been out of the loop for so much this summer that I know this is probably an old question and I'm hoping that it is really old news.

Hugs,

Jane
