Guest guest
Just wanted to jump in on this topic and tell you that I ordered 4 of the DS3000 digital recorders from Transcription Gear and have been well pleased. They are in Ohio and I'm in central Pennsylvania and my order came the next day. When I needed help over & above the normal tech support, the salesperson who always works with me went the extra mile to help me out/coordinate with tech support. I can't say enough good things about Tricia Ashburn at Transcription Gear. I thought you might benefit from my experiences so far with actual recorder " issues. " My clients have called several times with problems and so far I've discoverd that: 1. The recorder won't work if the " hold " button is on (like the pause button on an analog recorder). I wish I had known this before I drove 3 hours round trip to " save the day. " 2. If it is acting " funny, " try re-seating the memory card because sometimes that is all it takes. 3. If it is acting " funny, " try pushing the reset button in the battery compartment. You do not lose data stored by doing that. 4. #s 2 & 3 were gleaned from the instruction manual when it turned out that #1 was actually the problem. By the way, the first recorder I ordered only came with 1 memory card. My second order for recorders came " new & improved " with 2 memory cards per unit. You might want to ask when you order which you are getting. Also, you can order separately the AC adaptors (but you'll probably have to ask a sales rep) because the batteries are only supposed to be good for 10 hours. Imagine that! Best of luck.
