Guest guest
Unfortunately I was in a horrible fog all weekend. Between allergies and asthma I'm beginning to think not enough oxygen was getting to my brain, LOL My cousin has ADHD but what she is on meds for is her bipolar, LOL. I've never had any trouble tracking her conversation....except for the fact that she assumes anyone she knows I know, LOL. Anyway, like I said, the allergies and the asthma had me reallly screwed up this weekend, but something else was going on , too, because my hands and feet and face were numb and I slept more than usual. They get like that sometimes....in fact the numbness started the first day I got sick and had to go home from work, never to be able to return. The numbness comes and goes, and this AM I seem fine so far...hoping it stays that way since we're going on a brief vacation Thurs to Sat which I'd like to be able to enjoy. Kathy Re: Dawn Yeah, thats all what I was thinking. I've been ditched many a time & only been the dumpee a few & certainly not from a long term relationship. Its just way harder to bail. than I would have thought. I am pretty determined to go though. Its a shame, he is finally admitting he has some problems & getting professional help. Too bad he did not do it the hundred or so times I was just threatening to go...back before I made up my mind. He keeps begging me to just rethink it. Unfortunately it takes me a very, very long time to make up my mind usually. I sit on the fence & sit on the fence deliberating but then when I finally DO decide....well, I've only changed my mind back again a few times about different issues & always regretted it. I just don't like to deviate once my brain is truly stuck on one course. We are pretty sure W. has ADHD pretty badly & that may in fact be what has caused a LOT of his money problems & also explains his temper. We lo! oked at a symptom list last night & it described him 100% to a tee. I have adhd as well but I knew years ago something was a bit wrong & I learned to compensate for it....I write tons of lists, I know that my surroundings have to be somewhat orderly or I cannot accomplish anything....I know I have to concentrate on each task at hand or I will get distracted....etc. etc. The difference is that I am pretty introspective for someone with ADHD (plus probably I don't have it as bad as W.) whereas he has (i think) spent most of his life just trying to fit in & deny anything was wrong. He has an appt. with a dr. but the soonest available is the 31st. I sure hope that he does not sink into denial again by then. DawnKathy wrote: Mostly been on the receiving end of that equation, but it's hard on both sides, I know. If things aren't working don't hang in there just because of the initial hurt of leaving. My first marriage I hung in way past when I should have, and then HE left me. I was hanging in mostly for the kids, but I think it ended up doing more harm than good anyway. If you want to have kids, now is the time to get going. Guest guest
Yeah, I know, LOL. Denny wants to get his pilots license...his uncle and a couple of his friends have theirs and his uncle has a plane so it wouldn't cost Denny quite as much, but considering the hot tub and the land and the deck, we just don't have the spare cash right now....at least not if he wants to retire in a few years. Kathy Re: Dawn Oh gosh no, its not insulting....I just figure a lot of people don't know how much rigorous testing goes on to be a pilot. Just wish it was not such an expensive field to get into. It makes becoming a doctor look cheap. DawnKathy wrote: Oh, I know., I mean there are any number of pilots in Denny's family and I know they test them really well. Guest guest
Strange, like its a neuropathy that comes & goes??? I was like that for awhile but I think I was on prednizone at the time. Plus I was heavier at that time than I'd ever been so I figured the electric signalls were gettting bogged down in fat rolls! LOL....yeah, probably not a fact of science but I really DO have more problems when I am at heavier weights. Of course that could not apply to you since you have lost tons of weight this year. Sorry you had a rotten weekend. hugs, dawn Kathy wrote: Unfortunately I was in a horrible fog all weekend. Guest guest
The numbness comes and goes, and sometimes is really bad, other times mild. I think it may have something to do with the c3 and c4 vertebrae that are out of place and sleeping position, but I don't really know. I did alot of stuff upstairs last week, including moving a couple of bookcases that I should have waited for Denny to be home to help with and the neck spasms were really acting up so I'm thinking maybe a combo of the displaced c3-c4 and the spasms were causing a pinched nerve or something. Every thing is worse when you're overweight...I'm thinking even lugging that extra weight around is a PITA. The brain fog seems to be always there, and the dizziness, just worse sometimes than others. My asthma and allergies seem slightly improved this AM, I'm hoping it holds. Guest guest
Yeah, he'd just want a private license and with the use of his uncle's plane it wouldn't really be all that much, I'm actually hoping he forgets about it, LOL. He won't, I'm sure, because this isn't just something he suddenly brought up, he's been wanting to do it but doesn't have the time to do it. He probably will after he retires. Kathy Re: Dawn I'm sure he probably looked into it...its actually not THAT expensive as long as Denny just wants a private. Warwick told me its between four & six thousand dollars for private plane pilots. Its if you want to go commercial that things get bad because they require a LOT Of flight time & the hours add up quickly. Multipy that if you go helo because you need different ratings....I think when w was in school he was paying like 350$ an hour....and then the fixed wing helicopters cost even more than that. Then you have to pay for ground schooling as well. The 4 to 6 with private plane estimate did include ground school though. Maybe Denny can try it after he retires. All the pilots I know love it. Not my bag though, I'd rather scrapbook or make collages. lol. DawnKathy wrote: Yeah, I know, LOL. Guest guest
Yeah, now that you mention it I had worse problems with numbness if I was sleeping in bad positions. I bought one of those pillows made out of the weird mushy stuff at tones, that sort of fits to you...I forget the name. That helped me a lot. Of course I have my chiari so I think if my neck is in a bad position/angle some of the cfs is dampened worse than it already does. Certa? Maybe that is the name. They cost about a hundred dollars but it was well worth it. Only problem is that they come in different sizes & its not always obvious what size you need. The first one I had was too big & my neck was actually worse. Now I have the medium & its made all the difference. I don't know if I mentioned it to the group but I think I read someplace that having a B vitamin deficiency can make numbness/tingling worse. Also, I got the Personal Profile video that T does....lots of food for thought. One thing she said is that Magnesium depletion is more common that most people think & that being depleted in it can cause worsening of neuropathies. My allergies don't seem to be too bad this season minus the occasional stuffy headache. You don't have carpet do you? Have you tried the ion air cleaners? I have not because they are too expensive but I guess if your problems were severe enough it might be worth the extra money. Guest guest
I take extra B and I take a Calcium /Magnesium supplement. I have carpet, but the problem seems to be the outside and the rain we've been having (molds and mushrooms everywhere in the woods. It's a PITA and I take benadryl if I have to , in addition to my asthma meds, but I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else, and I like my carpet. We have one of those ion things on our list, but right now budget is tight. However I saw this light thing that does on your duct work that should help. I'm trying to find out how much it costs...the website doesn't say and the guy was busy when I called, so I guess that's on the list now, too. I have a great pillow and the cuddle ewe on my bed, and a funny squishy pillow thing that I use when I'm in the recliner. The thing is mostly that I over did, but sometimes in my sleep I toss things off the bed and end up sleeping flat which kinks my neck funny, especially since the side I lay on once I'm asleep is the opposite of the one I should be sleeping on because of the neck thing. Guest guest
Yeah, we have alot of those up here, too. I'm not too worried about that with Denny because he is extremely safety conscious and has been flying with his uncle for over 30 years now so he is very familiar with the equipment, etc. I just don't like planes anymore, especially small planes and don't want to have to go up in them. I'll go on the big ones only if I have to, and try to avoid the small ones altogether.
