Guest guest Posted March 21, 2004 Report Share Posted March 21, 2004 The Adkins Shakes are only 170 calories, they have 9 grams of fat and 1 gram of sugar. My Dr. said that we can not have sugar. I am 190 lbs. and 1 of those drinks I can not even finish. That and a piece of fruit or salad should fill you up. My Dr. said eat protein. The Atkins shakes cost more than I anticipated however I found a protein powder by Met-Rx that you mix with water. It has 40 grams of protein but I see that it is 260 calories (25 from fat) and 6 grams of sugar with 19 grams of carbs. What do you think? What brand works for you. I must say that since I have discovered this support system on-line and valuable information I have started exercising again. I walked 3 miles today. Drinking lots of water. I found out too that I need to do more than just a multi-vitamin. (B12, iron, calcuim, folic acid). I'm excited about the information I have gained and I want to say THANK YOU to EVERYONE. If insurance or money was no object, have any of you found out if you could have an second operation? Also would the same doctor would do it for you?
