Guest guest
Dawn.....Sounds like they are in shock right now...... always leaves them in clear water until roots start forming.....Once there is a good rood system, he then plants them in a pot and waters them good to get all the air out.....Make sure the pots have drainage holes in the bottom......They do go into shock, but once they settle down the leaves start smoothing back out and they look beautiful...... cutting advice? hey y'all, anyone know much about cuttings? i'm trying tobe a cheapskate & reproduce my shade plants. here'sthe problems, i took cuttings from my coleus plants, right below a node, took off the leaves from thebottom three inches of the cutting (cuttings wereabout six inches long) then dipped the ends in growthhormone then stuck them in clear glass containers ofwater. This is the first day & they don't look TOO badbut a bit wilted. Is this normal? Should I take offall but two or three leaves? Second plant, I tookcuttings from polka dot plants. The internetrecommended rooting them in a 50/50 mixture of peatmoss & perlite. I mixed it up, cut the plants in thesame manner as the coleus, dipped them in hormone & stuck them in the pots then watered. I came home fivehours later & they were wilted so badly as to befalling all over the pots & looking dreadful. Any ideawhats wrong? Will they stand back up? The soil is notdry, I checked. Thanks,DawnPlease visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com

Guest guest
Yep--they always go into shock when you change about anything about them. I usually root mine in water first, like Pam said. Guest guest
THanks Pam, they are all looking much better this morning. I'm guessing that its the heat. Probably they will look pathetic again by the evening then perk up in the morning. Dawn --- " Pam L.
