Guest guest
And he sleeps for 12 hours?! Holy cow! > What do I feed Veda to make that happen? Please don't tell me > breastmilk ;-o > Hi Sara, Glad to hear things are going well with your return to work. It's a huge step and kind of scary (i remember!). Also glad that Veda is settling down a little. As for the sleeping, it has nothing really to do with food. In fact, slept 12 hours (not straight) when he was exclusively breastfed. Starting from around 3 months he woke up 2 times in 12 hours to be fed. At around 6 months I eased him down to one feeding in 12 hours. My hope is to have him doing 12 hours without a feed by 9 or 10 months. I can give you lots of info about the books that helped us a lot and the stuff we tried and the stuff that worked. Email me if you'd like at jlokere@.... was a bad sleeper as a newborn; bad bad bad bad... Up till 8 weeks old he only slept maybe 4-6 hours in a whole 24 hour period, when a normal child should sleep maybe 15 or 16 hours broken into short naps. He would only fall asleep nursing, and even that, rarely. He wouldn't fall asleep in my bed with me, either, not even with my breast in his mouth! He was so tired all the time, cranky and yawning all day, and screaming most of the night. So it was really out of desparation that I embarked on sleep training with him. I'm really glad we did, because it worked for us and for our family. And he's a much happier kid now that he's well rested.
