Guest guest
Olif, I'm definitely prone to this with all the 'tender points', etc. The biggest help for me has been recognizing that I really wasn't sleeping soundly through the night. I now take 5-HTP and a combination herbal supplement (valerian, passionflower, etc.), and get deep, restful sleep. I think it allows my muscles to relax and recover, because my symptoms have been infrequent & mild since starting this last July. I also find it's really important to avoid stress & become aware of times when you're tensing up muscles. Anything that helps your friend learn to relax mind and body will be helpful. A friend of mine has fibromyalgia, and I am talking with her about mercury toxicity. She doesn't do yahoo groups, but she does email. If you are interested, I would love to pass your story on to her and/or connect you via email. Feel free to email me on or off list. Thanks, Olif ovanpelt@... Guest guest
Thanks, Joanne. My friend started taking 5-HTP and theanine a couple months ago. She is sleeping a little better and says the pain isn't as bad. Have you had a hair test showing mercury toxicity, had amalgams replaced, and chelated at all? If so, has that done anything for you? She has been ill for 14 years and has quite a long way to go! She also has a mouth full of mercury. :-( Thanks, Olif

I have been chelating with DMPS and pain levels have gone down since I started chelation. Feel free to give your friend my email. " Amalgam Illness " would be the place to start. The excerpts at Andy's web page (www.noamalgam.com) are very helpful to read. It would be very worthwhile for your friend to have a hair test and post to the group or interpret with Andy's " Hair Test Interpretation " book. The book " From Fatigued to Fantastic " by Teitelbaum is a good reference. I was fortunate to find a doctor who used that book. He did caution that it takes anywhere from 1 to 3 years, though.
