Guest guest
, I had a similar experience three years ago, Darby's TOD took another position in August leaving one TOD for the city instead of two. Darby was placed at her elementary school specifically because there was a full time TOD there. Initially I tried to be understanding but in retrospect that only allowed them to take advantage of the situation. They kept insisting they were doing everything they could to hire a new TOD but couldn't find anyone and told me the same thing, that they would make up the services, after I discovered that her speech therapist had also left, from another teacher at the school, and they refused my offer that I would take her to speech after school at no cost to them, my insurance would cover, I only wanted to be reimbursed for mileage, 90 miles round trip, I lost all patience and filed a complaint with DOE. They dragged out the procedure but ended up being cited for a number of things. The most astonishing one was that all the efforts that they had claimed to be making to hire a new TOD amounted to a 3 day ad run in our local paper, I live in a fairly isolated area, not one ad run in any of the papers of any of the neighboring cities or one college contacted, they out and out lied to me and Darby lost a year of school, compensatory services later don't make up for missing that much. I have never dealt with my district the same and regret ever trusting them. I have never hesitated since then to file a complaint and they know it.
