Hi ,

I replied to you last week some time but I did it thru the egroups web site

and apparantly I goofed or something!

Anyway...my rent is 800. per month on my lowest priced kiosk and 1300 per

month on the highest. That will rise to 2500. per month in November and

December for the lower rent mall and 3000 for the highest. Of course I also

pay " Overage rent " based on my monthly sales.

I don't know why the mall would suggest not giving out samples unless they

think it will take a sale away from you.

This is what I do: I don't give samples to everyone...if someone has

browsed and sniffed and is still walking away without buying I will give

them a sample to try and I give samples to people NOT stopping at my cart.

I don't ASK I just smile, hand out the soap and say " here, try this free

sample of my handcrafted (natural/or whatever kind ) soap " . MOST people

take it, very few say no thanks or ignore us. The soap is in a little

zippie bag with a soap label on it and my business name and location.

Give samples to your neighbors around you in the stores and other carts.

Some of my very best customers are mall workers who I gave free samples to.

All of my 'mall neighbors' are addicted to my soaps and lip balm and buy me

out due to free samples I gave them. Now their friends and familes buy my

products too. Also, it became GREAT word of mouth advertising. They tell

THEIR customers about me :)

Kiosks are so different than in-line stores. We never sit at the kiosk,

well hardly ever. I have my employees constantly 'walk the cart'. Look

busy, straighten things out, smell soap, look like they are having a grand

ole' time over at the cart and it attracts people to us. We smile at

everyone and say hello. We work hard to attract customers. My newest

decoration is a beautiful water fountain that lights up along with soothing

music playing on my CD player. It is a great people lure! :)

Umm...can't remember if you asked anythign else, sorry, but how are you

doing out there anyway? How are sales? I am SOO curious as to how you are

doing there. Let me know! I will try to think of my more successful

marketing ideas for ya.

>Really? People don't mind? You get a good response, huh? Hmmmm....

>*thinking*

, wanted to comment about this. When I take DD with me to craft shows

she will stand right at the opening of our booth, kinda to the side so she

is not in the way. She stands there and talks to people who were going to

walk right on by. She just askes them to take a brochure and a sample of

soap. she makes sure it smell strong, then she proceeds to show them where

on the table that soap is. I would say at least 50% of those people who

would have walked right on by, end up buying something. They never seem to

mind being asked to take a sample, and few turn it down.

Hope your sales increase daily, bunches.
