Guest guest Posted June 22, 2005 Report Share Posted June 22, 2005 Hey guys! WOW....where did the week go? I can't believe it's already Wednesday again. It has FLOWN by that's for sure. I weighed on the scale this morning and I am VERY happy about the results and can't wait to weigh in tomorrow that's for sure. KOPSLand is getting closer and closer. I can see it ! ! ! I am also getting closer to Century Club and that thrills me even more. I couldn't do it without all you guys. I have exercised 5 days this week but I didn't reach my goal of 6 days. NEXT WEEK I WILL! ! ! ! ! I wanted to update you guys on my job situation just because a few have been asking. I still haven't heard back from Park Plaza Hospital. They called me finally after 3 weeks for an interview last Tuesday. Then they called on Wednesday and said they had to reschedule and I'm still waiting (a week later) for them to call me back and yes I have left a message for them, I have called my HR dept. and spoke with my current managers. Nothing. I am a little upset about that but whatever. I don't really want to work for a hospital that treats people like that. The good news is there is an opening here at my hospital for a Bed Control Clerk and I have decided to take it. I knew it was coming for a few weeks but I had a lot of thinking to do because it would be a drive from my new home and it will be long hours and it will put a big change in my life. I wasn't sure I wanted it BUT yesterday my boss pulled me in her office and said that she would have an opening in Bed Control soon because one lady had resigned and she wanted to offer it to me if I wanted it. I was flattered she thought of me first. I told her I had known for awhile and thought long and hard about it and since she offered it to me....I said yes. She said she just had to run it by the two bigger bosses but that shouldn't be a problem. I should start officially on July 28th but I will probably start sooner because I have to do a lot of training to be ready because I will be by myself a lot of the time. The reasons I took the job is: I will work 7 on/7 off M - F (1 - 11:30 p.m.) and S - S (10:30 - 8:30) and you know I love late hours and not having to get up early for work! I am a night owl don't you know. You work 70 hours but get paid for 80 (10 hour days) and then you get 7 days off. YEAH! I will probably get bored but I think I can handle that! LOL! I also will work by myself (which I love) from 2:30 - 11:30 and all day on the weekends. YEAH! It will also be a raise and that's always nice. It will be a lot of driving but it will only be 14 days a month instead of 20 and the raise will make up for the gas money for sure. I like working at Houston Northwest and I didn't want to leave here but I wanted to get out of my current position Quality Assurance because after 3 years it's BOOOORRRIIINNNG! The ONLY damper to this new position is I will not be able to go to TOPS every week. I will go every other week. I'm okay with that because a job is more important and even though I won't be weighing in each week I will still be on track.....that's a promise! ! ! ! I am so excited. I can't wait to start my new job. I find out officially in a week or two. YEAH! Well...that's my news. So...if Park Plaza does call back I'm going to be like SORRY...YOU WAITED TOO LONG. YOUR LOSS! I'll just use that money to pay bills or plan another vacation or time with my mother on my 7 days off! Hey....I'll be able to keep my mail caught up then. That's cool! LOL! My 7 ON falls on SRD weekend BUT they are pretty cool around here and I'm sure I'll be able to get the time of or switch with someone. My boss knows about TOPS and is cool with letting me off.
