Guest guest
Dear Lucila, I'm glad to hear good news from you. I have never met Dr. Vancaillie, but I immediately felt he's a special person from the way he's answering to my e-mails and now I feel like I know him. I was thinking - well I'm still thinking - to fly to Australia to see him, but know I will see what will happens with Dr. Gallinat. Don't be afraid of surgeries, doesen't matter how many you will need as long as you'll recover from AS, I will have hundred if it will helps!. I think he act like this to make the endometrium cover the opened portion before going on opening another part, for not having too much cavity to be re-tiled from endometrium all at once. One question: you wrote he told you still have healty tissue in your uterus: from where is he noticing this? By u/s? If yes what did he saw? Did he mesured an endometrium line/pocket? I'm asking because this is the main issue with me.... after u/s some doctor says I have thin endometrium line, worth enough to try the surgery and some says not, this is not endometrium and the surgery is only a waste of time! Anyway good luck. Where does your sister live in italy? I live in Sardinia. Ciao IvanaBy the way: good idea to warn sister in the hospital for AS, I was thinking to do the same.... Guest guest
Corinna, I'm glad you had an opportunity to speak with Dr Gallinat. I do like it when they find out how busy we are with Ashermans members. It will hopefully bring them to understand what a problem this is. Let us know if he contacts you about a student doing his/her PhD on AS, although I believe that there has already been some interest from a US member or two that S has mentioned. I hope that Ivana and Astrid's surgery went well. Regarding welcoming new members - I think this job should be open to all members who would like to welcome a new member into the group rather than just one person. I was not sure if this is what you meant. But anyhow, as moderator and owner of the group, even if members get welcomed by other members, I still like to send even a small welcome message to them. Let me know if this is not the welcoming email you were talking about. I have sent you a reply to a private email on another job that I would like someone to help me out with and am waiting for a response on that. Guest guest
Dear Ivana, My uncle was treated in Lausanne Switzerland. Within a week I could get the name of the physician for you. My parents are on vacation with my uncle right now and I would have to wait until they return before I could ask. I will let you know at that time. Please e-mail me privately and remind me if you don't hear from me. I wish your friend lived in the states because the premier doctor for this is Dr. Sugarbaker. But, my uncle is alive and well and we have his surgery to thank. They removed one lobe of his lung, part of his diaphragm, and part of his pericardium. They got the entire tumor out in time because he has no signs of cancer at this point.
Guest guest
I'm glad to hear you still had breastmilk despite your retained placenta...but I think you are the exception!! I think it also depends on the size of the piece of endometrium that is left behind...when you have a large piece left behind like I did it is more likely to prevent or severely curtail milk production....
