Guest guest
Donna, That's why I didn't make a cake. I knew if I made a cake, I'd be having to cut into it, see the inside, smell it, put slices on dishes, etc. Too much temptation. So, I figured if I made cupcakes instead, each kid would just grab some themselves and I wouldn't have to go near them. And then I knew if the jimmies were on top, I wouldn't want them. Couldn't figure out what to do to make the Dunkin Munchkins seem repulsive, though, LOL. So, I just kept the box closed and put it as far away from me as I could. They also had pizza and soda, but that was at the bowling alley. I was so sick that I didn't even go. My son and his girlfriend went to help my husband with the party. Then, everyone came back here and my daughter opened her gifts and they had the cupcakes. Then they all slept overnight. ann > Hi ann; > > Congratulations on your successful weekend being surrounded by all those sweets!! Way to go!! > > I like the way you planned ahead to protect yourself from the desire to eat the cupcakes, yet still kept your daughter's party needs in mind. It takes a lot of creativity to get through all of that! > > My dd turns 14 next week and we're planning a pizza party at the local amusement park with about 15 kids. She requested a Red Velvet chocolate cake from a fancy bakery in town. I plan on having 1 piece of veggie pizza (and a salad) and only a taste of cake. And I'm hoping that 1 taste won't start an avalanche of sweet cravings! > > I'm proud of you! > > Donna
