Guest guest
It this statement correct? The herbs liquorice, ginseng and ashwagandha support the adrenals, stimulating them in an overall manner to produce all of the hormones. Liquorice and ginseng should only be used about 2 weeks of the month to maintain their effect. Liquorice can be helpful in boosting adrenal function, because it helps the body retain more of its cortisol. These would give you adrenal support taken long-term if you were not going to do anything else. I'm particularly interested in ashwagandha and its use for adrenal and thyroid function. Does anybody have any experience with it? Doses and general use? I assume that liquorice and ginseng 'stimulate' adrenals? But is that always good for adrenals that have gotten ill through over stimulation? We are in a bind in SA as they simply won't allow our desiccated thyroid (Armour) and adrenal (Isocort) through custom so rely in drugs (T4 and T3) and Hydrocortisone to rest and heal adrenals. But what herbs can accomplish this? Does ashwagandha allow the adrenals and thyroid to repair, or is repair only possible when you rest the adrenals by removing the stressors and supplying additional hormones (synthetic or through desiccated glandular?
