Guest guest
, I'll keep that in mind. We went back and forth about what to do--our neuro said the decision was ours. We decided that if we could do it in one fell swoop we would. However, I am prepared to reintroduce it and slowly wean if we have to. I hate this stuff! ashley ---------- To: <ketogenic > Subject: Re: Gill fellow benzo weaners Date: Wed, Jul 1116, 1220032002, 112:29 PM <<I don't like what the neuro is saying cause mine said that and went through withdrawls for almost a month before I couldn't take it anymore seeing her tortured so I put her back on and have been weaning slowly for a whole year. She's on .1 ml (0.125 mg/ml) so on July 28 she will come off of it. For a month she screamed bloody murder, was absolutely inconsolable and was banging her head literally over and over against the wall. Sure Diastat helped when I gave it to her one night, this calm overtook her body in seconds because Diastat is a benzo. But the diastat was at a higher dose than the Klonopin so here I was upping the dose of a benzo again so as soon as the Diastat wore off her body was craving the garbage again and she turned into a raving maniac again. It was horrible. Going slow she's had no withdrawals some seizures but she's been comfortable and I didn't feel like I was torturing her. That's how I had to handle it. I hope it goes much better for you. There are plenty of benzo websites that give info on doing weans - I hate to say it but most of them will say slow is best if you want to beat withdrawals.
