Hi Yesenia,Welcome to the group. Most of us can relate to doctors not understanding the symptoms as mainstream medicine (in general) doesn't have much experience or knowledge of toxicity issues, particularly from breast implants. Most of us have found naturopathic doctors more helpful.

I understand your fear...we've all been in your shoes. Try not to worry yourself though. You're actually one step closer to healing as you've realized what is making you ill and can take steps to address that and move forward to health.

As far as the UCLA dr, I didn't use him, but I believe Gretchen did. You can find her information at http://myimplantstory.com/

You can also read up on the proper way to explant atwww.truthaboutbreastimplants.com Three other women and I put the site together.

One question you should ask your dr is whether he does a capsulectomy or en bloc removal. You will find more info on that on our website. And no, if he's a skilled surgeon, you will not look deformed.

You mentioned you got your implants out of vanity and because you didn't know the side effects/repercussions. I think most of us were in the same boat as women really have to dig deep to find out the reality of breast implants. Women are just plain uninformed but we're trying to change that!

If you have any other questions, be sure to ask. There are a lot of knowledgeable women on the forum.

Hang in there and know you're making the healthiest decision for your body. ~ PH

Yesenda,

Welcome to Saline Support.

If it was me, I would tell the doctor I want my implants removed . . . PERIOD! . . . You might tell him that you haven't been feeling well and that you want to do your implant removed - just in case your implants are causing your health problems. Don't expect the doctor to agree your health problems are related to your problems.

Then ask the doctor how he/she would go about removing them. . . What you want to hear is that the doctor would remove your implants by cutting around the capsule that has grown around the implant - then remove the capsule and implant in one piece (en bloc procedure). . . . Then he install drains to prevent fluids from accumulating. The drains would stay in place until there was no significant drainage. At the very least, he/she would remove all the capsule humanly possible.

If the doctor tells you anything else, tell the doctor this is what you are looking for. The doctor may agree to do the surgery the way you want it done. . .

Ask to see pictures of women he has explanted this way . . .

If the doctor tells you that you will be deformed or depressed after explant, consider that testimony of his/her own skills. . . Just thank him/her and leave. Keep looking for an excellent surgeon!

An experienced doctor will be able to tell you if you will need a lift done to remove excess skin.

A word of warning . . . most women do look deflated right after surgery. It can be a shock when they first see the results. However, over the next year, they fluff out and shape up. Some are nearly as large after healing as they were with implants! Think of what happens when you sit on a pillow, then get off . . . You will fluff just like that pillow!

It's going to be important that you follow a very healthy diet - as well as detox for some time. .. But that comes later . . . Right now, priority number one is to get those toxic bas OUT!

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene
