Guest guest
Honey, PAT means Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia. I have had to do the research on this condition because my doctors just seem to ignore this condition. Years ago when my heart was so enlarged they were so concerned. MVP will not go away and it must be in every medical document that I have. Thank you, sweet Dede for the information on this. Many women have this condition, and they are never told because some cardiologists feel that we are neurotic. Do you have this condition? I sure hope that you do not have this, because you have enough on your plate as it is. Fatigue is one of the major symptoms and shortness of breath. I have both with the racing heart. I wonder if our Sue has this condition? We love you always....Lea and Superman ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` Re: Memo from God~ Awe, bless your heart sweet Lea ~ I am glad they are gonna do a ECG to check on your heart ! ! I am so sorry you are having such problems I pray that things come out ok for you. Please keep me posted on how you are doing and how your tests come out. Love you ~Dede MVP is mitro valve prolapse,Mitral Valve and Mitral Valve ProlapseThe mitral (MI'tral) valve is between the heart's left atrium (upper, holding chamber) and left ventricle (lower, pumping chamber). The mitral valve has two flaps, or cusps. What is mitral valve prolapse (MVP)? In MVP, one or both valve flaps are enlarged, and some of their supporting "strings" may be too long. When the heart pumps (contracts), the mitral valve flaps don't close smoothly or evenly. Instead, part of one or both flaps collapses backward into the left atrium. This sometimes lets a small amount of blood leak backward through the valve. This may cause a heart murmur. Mitral valve prolapse is also known as click-murmur syndrome, Barlow's syndrome, balloon mitral valve and floppy valve syndrome. Does mitral valve prolapse need to be treated? Most people with mitral valve prolapse don't have symptoms, won't have problems and won't need treatment. However, those who have leaky (regurgitant) prolapsing valves are at increased risk of developing an infection of the lining of the heart or heart valve known as endocarditis. In the past, some people with MVP have been given antibiotics before certain dental or surgical procedures to help prevent an infection called bacterial endocarditis (BE). However, the American Heart Association no longer recommends routine antibiotics before dental procedures except for patients at the highest level of risk for BE, such as patients with a prosthetic cardiac valve, patients who have had BE before, or patients with specific types of congenital heart disease. Also, the American Heart Association no longer recommends routine antibiotics to prevent BE in patients undergoing procedures of the gastrointestinal or genitourinary tract. Medicine may be used in a small number of MVP patients with chest pain, angina pectoris or abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4717 and PAT is probably PAD, periphral arterial disease. http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3020242 , Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) , PAD SymptomsMany people never have symptoms of PAD, and those who do often mistake them for something else, such as a back or muscle problem. Guest guest
Hello Sweet Lea ~ I guess I just havent regularly heard it called PAT. Yes, this ole heart is very compromised, and I have tachycardia on a regular basis, as well as bradycardia. I have cardiomyopathy with a left bundle branch block, congestive heart failure, NY level 3, and CAD, and my mitral valvue and tricuspid valvues both are leaky. What is weird, is my blood pressure and pulse both are irratical, constantly, day and night while sleeping. It wakes me several times a night. My heart device already needs changing, it is only 2 1/2 years old, usually they last 6-8 years. Doc said my heart is giving it a workout, and the device is why I am alive.... Na, God is why I am alive, and my will ! How are you feeling? When are you all moving ? ? You are in my thoughts andc prayers..Love Dede Vote for your city's best dining and nightlife.
