Guest guest
---- what adequate tissue do they want to look for????? My inclination would be not to do it----But medically, I do not know the risks---I am sure some here would know--- did Dr say what they would do if they were not pleased with the results they find???? I think a perinatologist and lots of US would be the way to go--- not sure what they are looking for.... J/ Bu DS 6-22-

Guest guest
Hi Adequate tissue around the fetus is what they said. I've had 7 u/s and see perinatologist every 3 weeks, ob every 2 weeks. Apparently there are no risks associated with mri, it is more like u/s than an xray. I didn't really give it any thought when they first mentioned it, but I recently tested positive for cystic fibrosis mutation, and had a lot of anxiety over that and I am now questioning all the tests I'm getting in terms of whether the knowledge is worth the anxiety. > ---- > what adequate tissue do they want to look for????? Guest guest
I don't know, but I, personally, would not get a MRI during pregnancy. I have no idea what the safety issues are during pregnancy with MRI. However, like you say, what difference will it make to your peace of mind? I'm not sure, either, what he means by " adequate tissue " . BU generally does very well in pregnancy, with the concerns being pre-term labour and breech presentation. I would question him more thoroughly! Congrats to the 13 week mark! Guest guest
> I wanted to know if any one with a MA ever had an MRI during pg? I > am 13 weeks pg. I have a B/U with horn resection. Hi there- I spoke with our orthopedic guys in the office I work in (they order alot of MRIs). Their opinion is that they only do lower (knee down) and upper (arm) extremity - never between the knees and shoulders - MRIs during pregnancy unless its an emergency regarding the mother's life. Personally, I would say no to the MRI. What if there is a problem? What would they do? If they can't do anything about it, then there's no point in getting the mri done at all. If they would do something like put you on bedrest, then maybe you should skip the mri and just go on temporary bedrest - preventative medicine. Personally, I wouldn't mess with it ... we just don't know enough about fetal development, you know? 9wks
