Hi Valentina!

Fused UD is pretty rare ... I think there are only 5 of us here.

Basically, it is UD that fuses together. The main difference from UD

and BU is that the wall between the two uteri is double the thickness

of a BU wall. It is so rare that many MD's don't believe it exists

('s doesn't and 's needed my operative notes to confirm

hers). Its important to remember that we can't think about MA

diagnosis as a series of boxes people fit into easily ... its more of

a spectrum. Me, I'm ultraviolet or infrared or something <grin>.

I'm a rarer type of fused UD - one of my uteri is extremely tiny with

very thick walls. My doc determined it too tiny to support a pg and

we ligated the tube on that side.

To see my photos from my first surgery, go to our Photos link, choose

Our Uteri, and then open the folder marked . Click to enlarge

it - it has captions. Be forwarned ... they are GRAPHIC!

HTH a little - we're still learning about this one!

HI ,

Thank you for your clarification! I guess that is why my doctor

wanted to do a lap - she mentioned that some of her other patients

didn't fall neatly into the UD classification.

I guess there is still so much for me to learn! It really makes me

nervous. :o
