I agree with the fast weight loss and lose skin, that will and does happen. It is always best to lose slow and steady building up ones muscle tone through exercise while losing. For some reason I thought you switched gears and starting talking about pregnancy and some sort of injection that prevented sagging belly skin. I know some women do have this but for me it never happened.

what is in the

injections you are talking about? KATHY

Hi ...

Assume for a second that someone experiences a weight

loss of half of their body weight.. The skin has been

stretched for many years to accomodate this bigger

person.. Then the person loses weight either fast or

slow and they now are half the person they once were..

What can happen is you have a ton of skin that just

hangs there like a drape.. I know it has happened to

people on the beach as well..that I have spoken with..

These injections they give not only help to break up

body fat in the areas of your body where you are

carrying the most of it, they aid in eliminating it

from your body as well as the added benefit of

hopefully tightening your skin, so you will not

require surgery..

As for my pregnancies.. I still have stretch marks

from where my skin was stretched.. and that was only

but for a few months time and more 25 years ago...

They are hardly visible now though since I treat them

with a cream that makes them blend into the rest of my

skin tone..

The injections are not meant for people who are

pregnant but rather for those losing lots of weight..

The surgery to remove skin is quite risky and I know

one women that had her stomach stapled and required

this surgery.. She got a massive infection and almost

lost her life..

;

What you're describing is called " linea alba pigmentation " . Some women

have this later in their pregnancy, but not all. Some women also

experience more hair growth along that line from the belly button to

the pubic hair region too. This has nothing to do with stretch marks,

flabby bellies, or anything like that. lol

Hi Donna..

Unfortunately it did not start and end with " linea

alba pigmentation "

Unfortunately I also got massive stretch marks around

my hip areas and tummy sides... and that was only from

my skin being stretched for a few months time...

I walked out of that hospital still looking like I was

9 months pregnant.. Although it was only a shell..

,

I am 5'4 " and I weighed 105 pounds and wore a size 5 (sometimes a 3)

from age 14 to age 36 when my disability began to put weight on me

due to immobility and medication. Until age 13, I wore

children's " slim " clothes.

I wore a size 5 throughout my entire pregnancy. Guys hit on me when

I was 9 months pregnant. And I did not get stretchmarks, seams in my

belly or anything else. My son takes after me. He is 6' and weighs

140.

Please do not assume things about people. Just because someone is

heavy now doesn't mean they always were.

Never assumed anyone was heavier when young.. It is by

far more common to put on weight as you age..

I was talking about heavier younger people or larger

people than myself.. I was also around your weight and

height at the time of my pregancies (at least for the

first one)...

I would figure though the more your skin has to

stretch the more stretch marks you are liable to end

up having.. as for the seam thing I think that is not

all that common..

I do think stretch marks are fairly common though so

consider yourself fortunate.. I got them on my breasts

as well..
