Guest guest
Hi Dee-I'm glad that you found us! Just wanted to share my experiences and say welcome. I'm also kind of confused about the whole " shape " thing that you mentioned-unless there is something unique about your UU. Obviously everyone is different and each one of us has different circumstances. I was able to get pregnant twice without ever having IUI. The first time I got pregnant very quickly b/f I knew about my UU. I did have a m/c at 9 weeks. After a year of ttc again with no luck, we determined that I was having annovulatory cycles or sometimes cycles with poor ovulation. We did the hsg, learned of my UU, and I started clomid. As far as injections v. clomid, I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. The biggest thing that I learned is that there doesn't seem to be one definite answer-even amongst med professionals. Throughout the process, I saw several REs. It was really sort of frustrating b/c each had differing opinions and it was hard to make a decision or know who to trust. My OB was the doc who started me on clomid. Her plan was to do the 3 months on clomid and then go to clomid/iui. I finally chose an RE and went through initial bloodwork/testing with him. He wanted to can the clomid, do a lap/hyst, and then start injections. I (being a bit neurotic) also consulted a peri before becoming pregnant and he was very much against the injection idea. I was also ovulating well on the clomid, so I wasn't sure why to go the injection route...there is an increased chance of multiples and I was afraid to take that risk (reduction was not something that I would consider.) I was, however, very frustrated and didn't want to waste any time. Luckily, I didn't have to make the decision b/c I did get pregnant on the 3rd cycle of clomid. I also agree that it is strange that infertility has come along with my MA. (It just adds insult to injury in my opinion!) For me, I had no trouble conceiving the first time, but had problems after my m/c. My RE felt pretty sure that I had endo, but we never did find out. I wish you the best of luck and hope that things fall into place for you quickly. Hang in there and keep us posted! UU,
