Hi Val,

I'm a right UU, discovered during an IF workup. I have a solitary right

kidney as well; that was discovered when I was 3. I haven't had any problems as

a

result. I was having recurring UTIs when I was a toddler, which is how they

found the kidney anomaly; I didn't have another until I was 9 weeks pg, when

you are more susceptible to UTIs anyway. I spent the duration of the pregnancy

on low-dose antibiotics to keep infection at bay (it worked).

I used Clomid for 6 cycles (I was annovulatory otherwise), with a rest cycle

after the 4th. I had the vision problem side effect and was going to move to

injectibles when I found out I was pg. The only experience I have with the

injectibles is the practice shot DH gave me in my RE's office 2 days before I

learned I was pg.

My RE was willing to use injectibles with me (natural BMS though, no IUIs or

IVF), which I think may be a rarity among RE's treating women with UUs. She

was concerned about the possibility of higher-order multiples though, so we

were going to need careful monitoring of the number of follicles to possibly

cancel a cycle if need be.

My pregnancy was relatively uneventful. I was seen by a group of high-risk

OBs about every 2 weeks. They monitored my cervix rather than placing a

preventative cerclage. Turns out I didn't need one. I was put on modified

bedrest

at 32 weeks when I began to lose pieces of my mucous plug and had

contractions. My son was born via C-section (breech) at 38w2d at 6 lbs, 11 oz.

I hope your treatment works for you and you are soon holding a healthy baby

in your arms! Best wishes.

Hi my name is Val, I'm 39 y.o. ttc and just recently had an HSG exam where

they discovered I have a left UU.

I have an IVP exam scheduled for Jan. to see if I have 2 kidneys. I was so

upset to find out about my

MA uterus. Never in my life did I ever have any problems - until I've been

ttc. I been undergoing

fertility treatments for 1 month. Clomid this month, next month injectibles

(Gonal F) and IUI.

Does anyone out there have any words of wisdom and encouragement? Thanks!
