Guest guest
Really ? So therefore the keto diet turning the kiddies more towards acidity via the acidifying ketone bodies, may indeed be one of the mechanisms needed for it to be successful. I knew that excess metabolic acidosis can cause seizures, as can metabolic alkalodosis (sp??) , but not that diagnosed epileptics swayed more towards alkaline. BTW, I was surprised to see on a site about multistix this morning, that 'normal' ph is between '6.0 and 6.5'. (like on a normal diet) I always thought it was around 7, ie - neutral. So for to often be above this, despite being on the keto diet, does seem to suggest that - yes, he is more of an 'alkaline' type person than is 'normal'. Boy - I wish I HAD checked all this before the seizures came calling. I wonder though whether the alkalinity comes about because of the seizures in some way, or whether it is a potential cause of the seizures - or both, or - neither. Hmm.
