Guest guest
Hi Brigitte. Welcome to the group! I was just reading another post from another new member, Holly, who seems to be in the same situation as you are! So, I will give you the same response I gave her... I also have UD (uterine didelphys, which is 2 uterii, 2 cervices and a vaginal septum). However, my 2 uterii are somewhat " fused " together. I was diagnosed when I was 17 or 18, back in 1986 or so. At the time, my doctor told me I would need to have surgery in order to have a successful pregnancy. I went on to other doctors who said that surgery was NOT necessary. I have never had any surgeries to correct this and still have the vaginal septum in tact. I have had one successful, full-term pregnancy in my " right " uterus and am currently 30 weeks pregnant in the " left " uterus. I hope that this helps you somewhat...to know that it is possible to have a successful pregnancy with UD and that you may not need surgery after all. How did your doctor diagnose you with UD? was it by Ultrasound ? I would suggest maybe having an HSG or MRI to be more conclusive. Maybe or can help me out here as to which is the best? I myself had an HSG back in '86(unfortunately, they no longer have the record of it), but haven't had any such tests since. My only recent diagnosis also comes from an Ultrasound. so, maybe others would be more qualified to advise on the testing info. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and am so glad you found this group. I don't know what I would have done without it...I used to think I was the " ONLY ONE " . It is nice to know there are more of us out there, isn't it? Keep us posted! Neal, 35 fused UD edd 11-25-03 mom to Peyton, 11-26-
