Guest guest
Hi group, I have a tube of Zinc Oxide Cream and a tube of Bacitracin Ointment. I noticed that they both contain mineral oil and white petrolatum as their inactive ingredients. Now here are my questions: 1) Why does it say on the bacitracin box that it should not be used past 7 consecutive days? Is the bacitracin ingredient bad for the skin when used long term? Does it cause a dependent type of reaction or what? 2) I tried a test patch of the Zinc Oxide cream on my temple yesterday afternoon and it made my skin go nutty. After I rinsed it several times it seemed to calm down and it looked normal again by this morning. Did any of you have a bad reaction when first using the regular zinc cream(not zinco)? I have to find something my skin can tolerate and so far Vaseline is it. I do not like to use the Vaseline though as it clogs my pores and causes a breakout. The bacitracine moisturizes my skin without a bad skin reaction or cause the zits. Would it be safe to use it now and again for a few days just to ease some of my skin's dryness? Thanks for any additional info you can provide regarding your experiences these two products. Regards, HT
