Frightened

Hi y'all --

I am going to see my GP today, but in the meantime I wanted to ask you guys

about a strange thing that's been happening the past 2 days. I am scared

of it, because I just don't understand it. I have a very strange sensation

at the base of my spine, in the small of my back. It is not pain, at

all. It is a deep tingling -- in fact strong enough that I feel like it

itches deep inside, and I need to scratch it. Last night I could not sleep

because the feeling kept making me shiver all over, and I couldn't find a

comfortable position. I finally moved to the couch around 3:00 am, and I

guess I was tired enough to sleep through it by that point. But when I got

up at 11:00 the feeling was still there.

One of my colleagues in the ER was admitted last week for viral

meningitis. But I have no headache or nausea/vomiting, as he did, so I

don't *think* that that is what this is. But it's driving me absolutely

NUTS. And this on top of my falling episodes has really scared me.

I imagine my doc will refer me to a neurologist, but in the meantime I just

thought I might ask you guys if you've ever experienced anything like

this. I wish I was not frightened, but I really am.

Best,

Em
