Guest guest
I went to the website: cea-control.com, I looked it over, read through everything and found it difficult to understand what they are trying to sell. I know it's a diet, but what type of diet. No price either. I'm not sure about this site, but it didn't give me much hope for help. Guest guest
It looks like a site that's run by Brady Barrows. I didn't realize he branched out to formulating a " rosacea diet. " Brady Barrows used to sell the " secret " to curing rosacea. Dr. Sy sent away for it, and the secret consisted of getting tested for h. pylori and being treated for it. Apparently, he had this bacteria (which causes ulcers), and his rosacea went away. Not much of a cure for most of us. I noticed that he didn't build his website too well, because I couldn't easily find out how to send for the diet or how much it was. I don't know if this is the case, but I wonder if his diet is a variation of Mark B.'s? I don't think Brady Barrows is a great font of knowledge on treating rosacea, and it's coincidental how he has a " rosacea diet " after Mark printed his information for free here. Brady Barrows' diet is copyrighted too. I think I'll try to email him and ask him how much this diet is. I'll post here what he says. Take care! Guest guest
I went to the letters and testimonials for the Barrows diet few months ago, and I " cracked his code " . The really intersting part, though, is that he doesn't look so good if you go to his picture. He's quite red. You can find similar diet information in the books by Dr. (check out your health food store, they should know who Dr. is) or the books of Winter (I believe his name is. He's into healing through colon health). I can give you a broad basic of Dr 's diet, but you won't like it. He suggests no sugar and no baked goods and no starches, either, like potatoes. He felt these made tiny blood vessels brittle. Of course, I believe he was right. Those " foods " I mentioned certainly are not life-suppporting, tastey as they my be! -- In rosacea-support@y..., ruizdelvizo@y... wrote: > It looks like a site that's run by Brady Barrows. Guest guest
A few people wrote me personally telling me that I got some of the facts wrong. The guy who had the magic cure of getting his h. pylori treated was Boyd, not Brady Barrows. Also, someone told me Brady Barrows' diet consisted of avoiding sugars and starches (a low carb diet) and drinking lots of vinegar. If vinegar is a big trigger food (like it is for me), that diet sounds bad. However, I have seen for myself that a lower carb diet (getting most of my carbs through whole grains and fruits/veggies) does make my skin less reactive. I read on Medscape about Syndrome X which is a mysterious genetic-based predisposition to heart disease and certain immune disorders such as diabetes. The article hypothesized that Syndrome X makes heart disease or certain immune disorders worse if the person eats a high carb diet. If one would think that rosacea may be linked to an autoimmune disorder, maybe this is part of the reason why this occurs? I know it's just speculation, so I'll leave it at that. I don't have the link to medscape with me now but I did find an article explaining Syndrome X and here's the link: http://www.americanheart.org/Heart_and_Stroke_A_Z_Guide/syndx.html As well, the brittle blood vessel theory that Pink Cat mentions below is the idea behind Dr. Perricone's book on aging and rosacea. Except he takes it a step further and says that bodily organs such as the heart and the skin become brittle and inflammed with overconsumption of carbs. Alpha Lipoic Acid, internally and externally, is supposed to stop this progression. I think this is based on a theory I read in Scientific American quite a few months ago that the internal organs of diabetics age faster. However, they didn't study the skin, and they didn't know if this was the case with non-diabetics who happened to consume lots of carbs. Hope that helps!
