Guest guest
Hello, I am the Lead Instructor for the second online EMT Basic Class at Lee College. The term online might better be listed as " Mostly Online EMT Basic Class " Our students still come to class on Saturdays for 56 hours of Skill Practice, Review, and testing. I don't see any first time student ever taking a completly online EMT class, or any EMS Coordinator ever signing off on one. As for the NREMT paper that was published in July. It was one of my first online students that brought it to my attention the week it came out. This paper I think refers to many of the classes allowing a CPR card to be coverall for CPR Skills. As I have seen in past classes when I asked how many students had put their hands on a AED Trainer in their CPR Class more than half of them stated " no they had just watched the video on it " . The way I have read the paper I feel the students have not thoughly understood the steps of Airway Management or CPR. With the " Mostly Online EMT Basic Class " being a addition to Online Classes. We are planning several more for 2005. I feel the students we will have sign up are self motivated for the most part and will be a great addittion to the EMS community.
