Nothing like a challenge then, is there? <VBG> I still can't believe that none of us are treating the underlying problem, i.e., auto-immune disease in the case of Hashi's and that's what the nat'path is treating, *not* the Hashi's itself. The " holistic " approach - fix the auto-immune issue and the rest should begin to right itself. Might take me a lifetime, but I'll get there eventually. Went to the endo today and in response to my simple question of " what do you think of Armour? " he said you could have that, have a few patients on it, they think they feel better, be interested to see how you go on it, can't tell you where to get it, how much would you like? Nearly fell off my chair because I have had an argument with the man the only other two times I've seen him. Have already e-mailed the script to the compounding pharmacy, and I should have it in a week or so. The endo recommended splitting the dose, but he didn't think I'd need to start off slowly since I'd only be taking one grain and had been on 50mcg thyroxine anyhow, he'd not heard of people having reactions (headaches, heart palps) - it's all really in my hands so if the consensus here is to start slowly, that makes sense to me! Fortunately, I have no celiac antibodies (yippee no *need* to go gluten free) but unfortunately the path people didn't read his handwriting properly and skipped the thyroid antibody tests, so I won't know anything about those for another eight weeks. Bugger. Anyway, thanks for the tremendous support from you and ! Oh and back to my original question which kind of got skipped - what's the best time of day to take Selenium if taking thyro/armour first thing in the morning? Donna in Oz.
