It looks like I am riding Rita out. I think I am closer to Galveston than anyone else on this loop. I'm about 37 miles from the Galveston causeway and 30 miles from Kemah. I've been packing up all my photos this morning. I have family pictures all over my house. Still have to get the photo albums into plastic bags and up high. I've also packed a bag with a couple changes of clothes, makeup, my glasses (may not be able to change my contacts). Trying to figure out what to do with some money I have here at the house though I do plan to have on jean shorts with lots of pockets. I have about $800 all together here with Christmas savings, spending money and another little stash I keep for emergency and travel money, just in case someone calls and wants to go away for the weekend.

I don't have gas in my car and none is available here. Most stations are closed. Walmart closed at 3 yesterday and all the grocery stores are closed and boarded up.

Good luck to all of you who may be in the path of the storm. It is supposed to be a Catagory 1 when it hits the Dallas area.
