Guest guest
Marie, Smart girl by getting those implants out !! And make sure you get a doctor to take your implants out by en bloc or do a capsulectomy so all the junk is still not in your chest and make you sick like it did me. I am getting better since I had to go back and get a capsulectomy almost 2 months ago. Love In a message dated 4/12/2008 3:25:41 P.M. It must have been ruptured since approx. 3 years. My implants were of the same size during the first year that I got them. When it started to look different, I thought it was just the way they were meant to look, since I was told that the breasts were changing during the first year. I should have done a follow-up with the doctor every year, but I was scared to go see a doctor about my implants. I was not able to face the situation. I am happy to have done this step. The doctor suggested me to get my implant on the left side replaced. I don't want that. I want to get my implants out. It's scaring me...but I know that it will be the next step to take. Guest guest
Marie,Welcome to . . . You could have your implant replaced . . . however, eventually you'll have to have them replaced again and again. Implants are estimated to last ten years . . . Many don't last that long.I'd suggest having both of them removed . . . with the en bloc procedure where they remove the scar tissue capsule with the implants still inside so nothing contained by the capsule spills into your chest. . . It's the safest way.Doctors will tell you this is not necessary . . . that implants are safe . . . that they can just put in a new one. They'll tell you that you'll be depressed or deformed . . . Not true. NOT if you have a really GOOD doc. However, it's been our experience that women who do this have problems that get worse as years go by.We have a list of recommended doctors if your doctor doesn't volunteer to do the job right.Hugs and prayers,Rogene
Guest guest
Marie, I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Thank goodness you want them out! I made the HUGE mistake of having them replaced '05 & last Aug. I woke up w/my rt. implant ruptured; I'm completely flat on that side & have gotten WAY more sick since it has ruptured. I'm getting mine out ASAP, also. Right before it ruptured, I lost all of my hair & lost 50 lbs. in months, along w/all the other issues; fungal infection, chronic rsp. infections, sores on my body, a shot immune system & went to ER yesterday for what looks like may be an ulcer & colon problems. I'm telling you all this so you know what can happen, if you don't get them out & get them out properly!! I know how devastating it is & how scary it is; hang in there & do what you know you have to do before you get really sick!! I wish you well & much health improvement! The girls here are EXTREMELY knowledgable & will help you ever step of the way. Hugs, Cheryl Hi, Last Thursday, I went to the clinic where I got my saline implants.
