I use it for myself and think it's very helpful for yeast. After using it a

few days, I feel much better, less shaky (this is one symptom I get when I'm

yeasty), greatly reduced sugar cravings. My son won't take capsules, and I'm

having problems getting it into him. Also, being an herb, I'm guessing it's high

in phenols (anyone correct me if I'm wrong here) and my son has great problems

with phenols.

Hi Prue

You need to speak to n, she is grandma to twin boys who are doing very

well, they use a good brand that you buy over there. I think she reads here,

also she just posted an intro on kidsdetox list. So maybe post with header

n in Austraila, she is very helpful

Go slow, start with only one capsule a day at the most with a meal. This

causes some big time die-off and is why DMG was recommended to go with it along

with a probiotic for us. My son's doing great with it now and we've worked up to

3 capsules a day every other day. So far, he hasn't been sick and this is

usually the time of year that we deal with chronic sinus problems.

I did respond to this, I'm not sure what's up with my email.

This is from someone at Food Science:

The Reason we chose DMG and Olive Leaf was because you could take it with

other Drugs, therapies, and homeopathic treatments without contraindications.

The

DMG will also help reduce the effect of Die off that can be seen with

products like olive leaf, because it helps with detoxification and modulation of

the

immune system.

We want to control the dysbiosis but not to shock the system. The procedure

that was worked out was that DMG at dosages found to be beneficial to those

with autism would be used along with a child dose of olive leaf every other

day (to control die off) on the alternating days a probiotic would be used

to replenish " good " gut bacteria.

Jo, I posted this question to you privately but I don't think you

got it so here it is on the board for anyone to answer -

Does the DMG enhance the function of the Olive Leaf Extract? Or

does it only minimize die-off? We have some of the Kirkman Labs TMG -

can we use that instead of DMG if our son has a big die-off

reaction? It hasn't happened yet, I just started him on OLE liquid

Sunday, 5 drops a day.

Does all Olive Leaf Extract taste the same? How do you get your son to drink

it? I'm sick right now and bought some liquid from the HFS today and put two

droppers full in my diet coke and was gagging it tasted so awful!

[ ] Olive Leaf Extract

A chiropractor that I take my son to is also a homeopathic doctor. He

prescribed European Olive Extract by Gemmotherapy for my son about 10

months ago. My son never gets sick! He hasn't had a fever, ear infection,

cold,

etc, etc for over a year. In fact, I really can't remember the last time he

was

really sick. I wondered what this stuff was doing for him and now after

reading

these posts regarding the Olive Leaf Extract, I know. I am very grateful to

him!

This comes in liquid form with eye dropper and can be found if you look up

Gemmotherapy on the internet. I can't remember what the exact name of the

web site is. I have been giving him, 4 yrs, 32 lbs, 1 eye dropper full in some

water twice a day, first thing in the morning and at night before bed.

By the way, my son has been going to pre-school through our school district

five days a week and still never gets sick! It's well worth a try!

I agree it does taste awful. I take a dixi cup and put a little

water in it and add the OLE. I chug it and then drink juice or pop

afterwards. It is a little more palatable this way.

Amazing how our taste buds are all different. For myself, I can put

it in water and barely taste it. For my son, it's 5 drops a day

which I put in his juice. He drinks it without issue. The brand

I'm using with him is Nature's Way.

Hey Lynne,

Could you please tell me what happened with you? I was taking Minocin 200mg

a day, then doxy 200mg a day. I've seen Dr. Mirkin and Dr. Sinnott. Then I

read something last week about pulsing the antibiotic dose. You know 100mg

Mon-Wed-Fri and that's it. How did you happen upon this dose? What doc do

you see? I am just curious if I am the same. BTW, I have RA.

Thanks,

Mel

For my son it seemed to cause yeast. I suppose it is more effective

against viruses or bacteria. Cranberry extract seems to kill yeast

well.

Nature's Answer in the yellow bottle is alcohol-free and has some taste to it,

but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to try and treat yeast with it because it's

my understanding that OLE does have antibacterial properties. Knocking down

bacteria isn't always a good idea because along with getting rid of unfavorable

bacteria, anti-bacterials knock down friendly bacteria as well. That's bad

because friendly bacteria controls yeast by competing with the yeast for space

in the intestines.

It seems to my knowledge that crowding out yeast with lots and lots of

probiotics is the way to go in yeast control. There are drugs specific for

yeast, but the advice I got was that they require liver monitoring so we chose

to steer clear of them. I would be remiss if I didn't include mentioning a

product called Aqua Flora which we used for Candida. You might want to learn

more about that.

Powerful against viruses and bacteria. Does not seem to do much in

respect of yeast.

Instead of GSE you might consider Oil of Oregano for yeast....

I used OLE as an anti-viral. I don't know if it is effective on yeast.

I have several yeast-killer options here

I use Natural Factors, from my local health food store. They are

capsules. I would start with 250 mg.

Tina,

I think it's the Oleuropein you want. I believe that is

the " active " ingredient of OLE. Some brands have a higher

percentage of it than others, but I don't really know how much of a

difference it makes.

Wow! That is like a book on olive leaf extract. Yes, a good quality

product can be helpful. But keep in mind these are not cure-alls

although articles like this tell about all the good benefits in

details. It may work well as part of a total program. Oregano and

grapefruit seed extract are also helpful, as well as colloidal

silver, for similar uses.

If you use any of these, including the olive leaf extract, with

enzymes, keep in mind there is often a synergistic effect. Enzymes

and other things work well together. The effectiveness of a

combination may be much more effective than either alone, but if you

aren't prepared you might find a die-off reaction shocking! That is

the main caution, go slow until you know the degree of effectiveness.

I had the flu a few months ago. I used OLE and I remained functional

and was even able to work while I had the flu. It lasted a grand

total of 2-1/2 days.

Now my kids are sick, but I have been taking OLE daily as preventive,

and so far anyway, I am NOT sick.

Yes. We have also had great experiences taking OLE. Whenever signs

of a virus hits, we double our AFP Peptizyde several times a day(2+

capsules each time)plus one No-Fenol (to help with the phenol issues)

and one Zyme-Prime. The Proteases (in the Peptizyde and Zyme Prime)

along with the Olive Leaf Extract help a great deal in ridding the

body of a virus. Our viruses used to last 5 plus days, but now only

last 1 to 3 days!

Thanks for sharing this info.....

I have never given OLE with water. I have no idea why the bottle

would indicate to take with warm water, but I would say you can give

it with cold water, see if that works.

Because you say it is a bottle, is this a liquid OLE? I never used

liquid, but perhaps it won't dissolve in cold water and that is why it

indicates to use warm water.
