Guest guest
Just another way to loose talented people in EMS. We need to remember an RN and paramedic are apples and oranges. The nursing process is entirely different from the medical model approach. We need to concentrate on building better systems and education programs for paramedics, rather than have the faulty notion that an RN is the next and higher level step that a paramedic can take. Certainly almost a 2x increase in salary, but not in patient care and medical knowledge. -MH >>> RaaEMS605@... 02/24/05 10:52 PM >>> In a message dated 2/24/05 6:02:28 P.M. Guest guest
It used to be like that. It's not anymore. I got my LP in spring 1999 and back then you just had to have 60 hrs of college with 18 hrs of core-courses. Now you need an EMS degree, B. , AAS, LP Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine EMS Educator Baylor EMS Medical Control 1601 Lancaster Drive Suite #10 Grapevine, Tx 76051-3300 Office Direct Line Fax Cell Pager Re: HB992 If I understand it correctly, you can have a degree in underwater basket weaving and get an LP. Guest guest
The associate's degree must be in EMS. A bachelor's (or higher) degree may be in any field. -Wes Ogilvie, MPA, JD, EMT

Guest guest
thanks, so if you have an LP, and a degree, and some house of people vote this into effect, then prioritizing applicants will change, right? ________________________________________ JONATHON WALKER EMT-P THIS EMAIL DOES NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS OF GOLDSTAR EMS
