If I understand it correctly, you can have a degree in underwater basket weaving

and get an LP. It really doesn't matter as long as it is a college degree.

If I understand it correctly, you can have a degree in underwater basket weaving

and get an LP. It really doesn't matter as long as it is a college degree.

That wasnt the question...it was whether or not the degree had to be in

science in order to be " first in line " for a nursing program.

degree requirement to me.

degree requirement to me.

Just another way to loose talented people in EMS. We need to remember an RN and

paramedic are apples and oranges. The nursing process is entirely different

from the medical model approach. We need to concentrate on building better

systems and education programs for paramedics, rather than have the faulty

notion that an RN is the next and higher level step that a paramedic can take.

Certainly almost a 2x increase in salary, but not in patient care and medical

knowledge.

It used to be like that. It's not anymore. I got my LP in spring 1999

and back then you just had to have 60 hrs of college with 18 hrs of

core-courses.

Now you need an EMS degree,
