parathyroid on one side and 2 on the other. His calcium level was 8.6. They

told me 8.9 was considered low so 8.6 wasn't TOO low. Is this right ?

It's hard to answer your calcium question without more information. Is Vaughn

having symptoms? If so, what kind? Do you know the range used by the lab where

the calcium was drawn. That would help.

From my own experience only, 8.6 is still within the normal range, albeit low

normal. A post-TT patient could conceivably be having symptoms at this level.

Complicated to explain at this time. If he continues to have calcium issues, we

can refer him to a hypoparathyroidism support group where we can get into more

depth. What kind and how much of meds is he on for calcium? (You refer to

" aditional meds " ).

Also, at age 38, I didn't have Cytomel post RAI and I bounced back quickly. Age

is a plus here. :)

Waiting to hear...
