Guest guest
Riza, I'm not sure about how long it will take. My Mom had chemo last year and she didn't feel anything at all, except tired. They have great meds now, and they really work. I would join a support group at yahoo for the type of cancer your Mother in law has. These groups are a life saver, with much knowledge, much of it first hand, and some from caregivers. They can tell you everything you need to know. I know this is what has helped me in anything that has come up for Mom's disease. Good luck. Inge

Guest guest
As some of you know, my MIL will be beginning her chemo treatments today (she has already had a mastectomy and the chemo is more of a preventative dose for future recurrences) Does anyone know from experience how long after your first treatment (for breast cancer) she will begin to feel it and what kinds of effects there are? It would be good to have a heads up on this kinda thing so we can plan accordingly and check on her. When my dad had chemo, he didn't feel it for weeks...but his was a different type of medicine (for pancreatic cancer) so I'm sure the effects were different. Thanks in advance for anyone with info. I guess I can check the American Cancer Society website too but any personal experience would be helpful too. -riza
