the body of halide compounds, such as bromine (breads) and fluoride

(water, toothpaste, and drugs), and the heavy metals mercury and lead.

TK--- just a reminder, iodoral may help with this but it is not a

chelator.

It is also proven that the body has a built-in safety mechanism for

iodine overload. It has been shown that at full-body sufficiency, the

excess iodine is excreted in the urine as iodide. Our environment is

loaded with toxic halides: bromine and fluoride. Until now, there was

no known way to detoxify these thyroid poisons that suppress thyroid

function. Iodine therapy now provides a protocol to remove these

poisons and restore thyroid function. As a bonus, mercury and lead

are removed from the body. Additionally, iodine is needed to restore

(maintain) a smooth heartbeat. Dr. Bruce West in Health Alert October

2006.

controlled them by supplementing 1500 mg potassium a day, but two

years ago, this seemed to not be enough, and I developed " episodes "

of frequent palpitations, irregular heartbeat, bradycardia, and

tachycardia, some quite frightening. After four months of increasing

amounts of Iodoral, using 25 mg a day for the last couple of months,

I no longer experience these episodes, and rarely notice even

a " missed beat " . The beat is like a metronome! I urge you to support

the thyroid as spelled out in " Mastering Autism " .

Hi Joanne,

You may already know this, so pardon me if this is old news. Halides

such as bromide can displace iodine. I use Iodoral, but I find that

when I consume foods high in bromides such as commercial baked goods

it erases all the benefits. Mountain Dew also has bromide. Bromide is

nasty stuff.

Here's a link to a case report.

function is very difficult to treat. She put me on full dosage as a

result of testing, but I've cut the dose in half because it really

hasn't done anything noticeable & it's a disappointment, given the

additional expense involved.

Anoither case of know nothings pretending to be doctors just because they have a

license.

Bromide was used for very long periods of historical time as an anxiolytic and

antiseizure

agent. It is still used for such in veterinary medicine.

Its positive effects, side effects and problems are VERY well known and anyone

with half a

clue - which appears to include no physicians making public pronouncements in

this field

- would simply read an old edition of any medical text describing it.

The amount of bromide in these foods is not significant.

BTW, iodide is also a long used medicine, replaced more recently by other

things. It was

typically used as an expectorant.

For historical interest, Bromo-seltzer really did used to contain bromide,

and most

red colored cough syrups that have been around for half a century or more really

used to

contain iodide.

Iodide does not help you detoxify any heavy metals.

Once they have said something THIS stupid, you should completely ignore anything

and

everything else they say about anything.
