Weight Recorder Question

Question is there an official answer to this or is it handled on a local Chapter level?

We recently had a member join. This person told us up front that they would not be able to attend many meeting but would make weigh-in if they could come early. They have another committment 75% of the time on our meeting night.

I am our chapter's leader. I come 1 hour early during the summer to turn on the room air conditioner and then also started a Chapter Exercise Program 1/2 hour after that - which runs 1/2 prior to our advertised weigh in time of 6:30.

Are you following this? Our weigh in is advertised 6:00 our meeting starts at 6:30.

I come every week at 5:00, turn on air conditioner, get TOPS stuff set out, make sure Scale is balanced in the middle, etc. Then from 5:30-6:00 we walk away the pounds with Sansone (2 miles for everyone that participates every Tuesday).

Now back to the original question - this person that joined asked prior to joining about weighing in early - since I come at 5:00, I spoke up and said OK, no problem. Now it is this new member's 3rd weigh in and our weight recorder says the weight recorder has to weigh them in and she doesn't begin that till 6:00???

I told her that any officer can weigh them in and that I am an officer... (but I was bluffing...I don't know that for sure)... can anyone else tell me if there is an official rule on this. I don't have a copy of the Weight Recorder Book? Our Chapter Bi-laws don't say this and neither does the Chapter Guide that I have (at least I didn't find it in there).

In the past there have been a member now and then that needed to weigh in early and knowing I would be there have come and I've weighed them in and this wasn't a problem. There has even been a time that the weigh recorder was going out of town and I met her there on a Tuesday at noon to weigh her in so she wouldn't miss, and that was ok. If anyone knows for sure that Leader's can't weigh members in, please share that with me. I want to comply, but in this case we will probably lose this new member if I can't.__________________________________________________
