Guest guest
Fay, While I can't give you a medical answer to this, I cna tell you that whenever my thyroid is a bit imbalanced, I experience more sinus problems. Like many people (all anecdotal, as you mention), I had a long series of sinus infections right before being diagnosed with GD. Lately, just as I was suffering from a lack of T3 without knowing it, I had real sinus pain/pressure again. My doctor just upped my armour and in the past few days, I've been feeling less pressure and pain. Lots and lots and lots of people have sinus problems and for me, those problems flare here and there when there are other systemic issues with my health. I also notice that my sinus problems are immediate if I eat wheat or dairy. I mean -- I can have a muffin and within an hour, I can't breath out of one side of my nose. Who knows?!! The sinus thing is tough. My homeopath said that for some people, it's the last health problem to go. Guest guest
Hi Fay, I had never had sinus problems in my life until we moved back home after living in Ca. for a year...then they started, but I never knew what they were. Saw a doctor and was diagnosed with chronic sinusitis. On and off for many years I would get severe infections that required antibiotics...I can't help but wonder if doctors would realize that when they see this problem coming in people who have never had them before, especially, they did a thyroid test. I would have been diagnosed much quicker. Being plagued with mirgraines since the age of 15 I couldn't tell what kind of a headache I had after diagnosis until a friend told me to squeeze the bridge part of the nose, right where glasses tend to settle, and if the squeeze releases the pressure it is a sinus problem/headache. Somehow I believe they are the first signs of graves disease, at least for me. I love how you shared about why you switched doctors each time! Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your input. > > Usually when I get the eye pain-cheek bone pressure, I am having a > more > hyperish episode. I was afraid of this. After about a half year off medication I'm experiencing some minor symptoms - leg tapping, very slight weight gain, and occasional rapid heartbeat. My pulse and bp are absolutely fine, though, and I have no other symptoms, besides the eye/sinus (?) thing. I'm 38 and never had a sinus problem. , where are you? If you're being treated with block and replace therapy I for one am really interested in following your progress. Guest guest
Fay, I wrote about being hyperish when I get the eye and cheekbone pressure, but I also want to add this: I went to a new really good endo yesterday. " He asked me " if I had pressure on my cheekbones or eyes. I said yes, I thought it was from being hyper. He said that I needed to have an Orbital MRI to see whats going on in there, but that could wait for me, right now, until we get my numbers down. I just wanted to let you know what my doc said.
