Depends on your surgeon's schedule. My surgeon does his surgery on

Tuesdays and tooth extractions on Fridays (leaving Mon, Wed, and

Thurs for consultations).

Mine was a Tuesday. I think it has something to do with the amount of

time you have to stay in hospital. I had upper/lower/genio, and

that's normally a 2 night stay. Lower only, 1 night only. My surgeon

probably doesn't schedule his double jaw surgeries later in the week.

That's my impression anyway.

The optimal time for surgery was, I thought, first thing in the

morning. They told me I couldn't eat after midnight, and I think I

would have had trouble making it to a 12:30 pm surgery without

anything in my system. Then again, your surgeon might not be warmed

up that early in the morning : )

My guy does his on Tuesday morning, at least at the hospital where I

had mine. I think the virtue of doing 'em the first to middle of the

week is that patients, even if they have complications, are out by

the weekend. But I could be wrong.

My doc only does surgeries on Wednesdays. Unfortunately for him, I

ended up staying 3 nights, so he had to come in on Saturday to check

me out. I guess he could have told me to leave on Friday, but he

gave me the option of staying another night and that's what I chose.
