I don't think glutathione chelates anything. It just aids elimination of toxins

and taking it may be too much for you. I prefer to take NAC which is a

pre-cursor to glutathione whilst chelating. As for MCS - I reckon that will

disappear when you start seriously chelating the mercury, as it did in my case.

Try asking your GP what has caused the MCS instead of taking what they

prescribed - I guarantee they won't know! So how can they prescribe a cure?

Glutathione

Does anyone know if taking prescription inhaled glutathione is good or bad when

one has mercury poisoning? Any comments or experiences you've had and can share?

I'm asking because I've been prescribed it for MCS and while it seems to help

the brain fog and symptom relief of the MCS I'm also getting what I deem to be

mercury detox symptoms and heard that glutathione chelated mercury.

TK--- it doesn't chelate Hg but it can make you much worse and is not

recommended.

Now my question is (and I asked my ND the same thing) if taking DMSA with

glutathione would be okay? I'm thinking the glut will stir it up and the DMSA

will bind and carry it out.

Also can glut be taken when mercury body burden is reduced to a low level?

I'm asking because glut is highly recommended for MCS by those in front of the

EI field. I'm trying to figure out how I can restore my levels without mercury

making me ill.

From: TK

TK--- it redistributes more Hg and makes the Hg symptoms worse -

headaches, brain fog, pain etc......

Do you have Andy's AI book? See page 199-200. The problem with

glutathione and other single thiols is that they bind to mercury,

but only *weakly*, meaning the mercury can bind and unbind over

and over again on the way out of the body. This causes more

damage. The chelators bind *strongly* to mercury so they remove

it from the body without doing more damage (assuming you take them

in low, frequent doses).

When you get your mercury level down, your body may be able to make

enough glutathione on its own.

Andy does not recommend glutathione for mercury poisoned people.

For those who are low cysteine and benefit from more sulfur, he

recommends increasing thiol-based foods and supplements to

tolerance.

Lots of people get obsessed with low glutathione levels. Most

chonically ill people have low glutathione. When you get to the

point of adding ALA to your chelation protocol, this will help with

glutathione levels. In the meantime, take plenty of antioxidants.

That's true... but taking it intranasally is effective. Of course it is still

contraindicated in mercury toxic individuals. I must admit it did help me -

until the mercury stirred up. I'm going for my metals test tomorrow and will

have results in 2 weeks. I may follow it up with a hair test too to cover all

the bases.

Pretty much says ingesting glutathione is a waste of time.
