Guest guest
I'm in Waco, TX. It was heartbreaking news. My husband and I both heard what sounded like a " sonic boom " this morning. It wasn't as loud and continuously rumbling here in Waco as some people on the news described, like in Lufkin, but did kind of shake the house. We didn't even know what it was, and then, Bob mentioned that, oh yeah, the space shuttle was coming in this morning so that was probably it entering the atmosphere. A while after he turned on the news and it started coming out that something was wrong, they'd lost contact and couldn't get them back, we were devastated. Don't know now if that was them entering or an explosion or both at the same time. I've been working all day and haven't gotten to watch a lot of the news. Does anyone know if the accident happened after they were already in the atmosphere (which is what I thought I understood, thought they'd been in contact a little while after entering) or if it happened about right when they were entering, as a guy this morning who was a meteorologist out of Lousiana was on the news saying something like he tell right when it appeared to enter the atmosphere that something was wrong, like there were immediately multiple pieces? My prayers are lifted up for the families. Joy ----Original Message Follows---- " To: NMTC Subject: <OT> My TX Friends...
