Guest guest
Here is another list from 2002 From: Barb Henshaw Sent: Wednesday, October 02, 2002 10:01 AM Subject: RE: TIPS FOR TRANSPLANTS For Caregivers: 1. Pack your bags as soon as your loved one is listed. Be sure to include your address & phone book. Also any meds you might need or anything to make yourself comfortable during the long hours of waiting. Take a folder or note- paper to write down what the Dr. & Staff tell you. You won't remember later. 2. Pick only one family member or friend to call. Tell everyone to call or e-mail that one person for up-dates. Be sure to tell everyone ahead of time, while you love them dearly - you only have so much time to chat and you will need to be with your loved. A lot of phone calls won't help your patient get the rest they need. If they feel well enough - they will call you. 3. Cook and freeze some meals ahead of time. Have someone lined up to check on the house, water plants pick up mail etc. Make a list for this person and give it to them ahead of time. Have someone lined up to care for your pets. Don't forget to tell them which vet you use. 4. Make a plan of action - so if the call comes you can follow your plan step by step. 5. Stay calm. You CAN do this!
