Can't we just switch to Burger King? As I recall their FF's are better anyway. kathiJessi Garlock wrote: I too went to their website and found the french fries to have wheat AND gluten.

BK's fries are supposed to be GF, but prior to being GF eaters we

FREQUENTLY got onion rings in our fries when we went there. That's

the reason we avoid BK. Also, we like McD's fries better.

Onion rings always show up in BK french fry containers... so I don't

really think they are safe. :(

The Burger King site lists their french fry ingredients as:

FRENCH FRIES (FRIED)

Potatoes, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Modified Potato Starch,

Rice Flour, Potato Dextrin, Salt, Leavening (Disodium Dihydrogen

Pyrophosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate), Dextrose, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Acid

Pyrophosphate added to preserve natural color.

HOWEVER...over and over again I hear how people find onion rings mixed

with their fries, and I've seen them use the same tongs, etc., so

there is no way I'd eat them...not worth the risk.

DH just recommended that I check out In-N-Out Burger, a fast food joint

in California, Nevada, and Arizona. He says you can watch them cut the

potatoes right there, and they don't seem to have any gluten fried

products. I checked their web page, which was pretty uninformative, and

then emailed them to see if they could verify that their fries were GF.

I will let you know what I find out. I know this doesn't help those of

you out of this area, but it's something. I'll still be out of luck on

any midwest road trips, sigh...

This is not how they do it now, though.

I have eaten some fries on rare occasions, but I also

don't care for the GF burger there so we rarely go (BK

was my favorite before CD). I have heard numerous

tales of onion rings in the fries so I would indeed

worry about contamination.

Of course, fast food places are just about the

absolute worst places to go if you're truly worried

about contamination.
