Hello

I think this is a great idea and if everyone in the group was willing to

participate the results could be very interesting. Put my name down for

this.

A lady called Tracey offered to carry out a similiar survey last

September but nothing happened.

Symptom data collection

> I've been observing this group for quite a while although I have only

subscribed quite recently.I've been scanning the med literature, journals,

CPS, etc. constantly in addition to all the rosacea symptom descriptions in

this group trying to figure out some sort of relationship between some of

the different types of symptoms rosaceans get -- must be the scientist in

me. The problem I'm finding (as I'm sure everyone in this group is aware) is

that the term " rosacea " is used as a sort of catch-phrase for a number of

different symptoms: prolonged flushing (usually heat/sun), emotional

blushing, papules, pustules, swelling, constant redness, redness that comes

and goes, sensitivity to all forms of light (not just sunlight), enlarged

pores, thickened skin, seb derm, and the list could go on and on.

>

> I was wondering if it might be helpful (and I don't know if anyone here

has tried this already) to survey the people of this group as to their exact

symptoms, products tried, medications, etc. Perhaps a better correlation

could be found between which treatments work for which combination of

symptoms in different sufferers. I would be willing to set something up if

anyone thought it might be useful.

This is a great idea and would benefit us all I am sure. Hope you do

go ahead, though it would be quite an undertaking.

Yes, there do seem to be differences in our symptom groups and it

often seems that what works for one of us can cause problems for

someone else. The idea of collecting and correlating symptoms

and treatments is excellent. Here's my suggestion: after soliciting

ideas from people about symptoms, triggers, and what-works-for-me,

then post a questionnaire so that all the relevant data gets included.

What am I saying! If you're a scientist you know how to do this. (I

wasn't intending any insult, just enthusiasm for your idea)

It's 4am, been up since 2 after waking from a horrible nightmare

(shouldn't have watched that Shaft video last night, eh?)
