Guest guest
Thanks for your information about Ashwagandha . Adaptogenics sound like fascinating herbs. Especially for me who has weak adrenals and is hyperthyroid. I will be trying that out soon. Dean
Guest guest
>I took 3000mg ashwagandha daily for about 4 months, than tapered >it down over the next 2 months. In addition I took licorice solid >extract (mixed in hot water to make a tea - mmm!), Biotics ADHS, >and Thorne B5. Here are my before and after adrenal tests: Hi , Does this dosage mean 3000mg of the ashwagandha powder, or standardized extract? We can only obtain a supplement with 100mg of the standardized extract and it suggests 2 per day. I'm sure that 30 capsules would be too much? Also, how long do you think you can stay on it? Thanks, Dean
Guest guest
Just out of curiosity, are you planning to use ashwagandha instead of HC, or in addition to it? -- HI , Thanks for all the information. I found out the Ashwagandha we get has 100mg 'Root powder' and 300mg 'root powder extract' in each capsule. So I'm still not quite sure how to dose. I have being using HC for a few weeks now. Starting a little High at about 20 and slowly tapering it down. I'm on 5mg now, 2.5 in the morning and 2.5 later. I have found it very, very helpful. Thanks . I got the impression my adrenals needed some stronger support and decided to do a sort of stretched out taper. It has turned out to be a very good idea. I'll go off it within a few weeks and wanted to replace with a herbal adrenal support. Ginseng and liquorice work well for me, but I don't want to keep stimulating the adrenals all the time. I am hyperthyroid and I see on one web page ashwagandha is not advised for this? I have a nephew that is hypothyroid and think ashwagandha is the perfect herb for him considering its safety. He has had thyroid tests and is awaiting his hair test back to check for underlying toxicity Thanks, Dean
